New Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) Children from various city schools Sunday participated in a robotics workshop at the Oxford Book Store, enjoying the practical side of science and technology.
‘We are providing science education to the kids in a fun way. We help them to discover their hidden engineering instincts. We hold weekend classes in various city schools and are getting tremendous response,’ said Sunaina Sood, Delhi center head of Silicon World, a Bangalore-based organisation which organised the event. The organisation holds workshops for children between 8 and 14 years.
Vrinda sharma, a student of Class 5 at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Lodhi Road, said: ‘We learned a lot about robots. We discussed how a robot functions and how it is different from humans.’
After a theoretical introduction, the kids built their own robots and windmills using plastic parts, rubber and easy-to-use electrical components.
Sarthak Suri, studying in Class 9 of Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura, was ecstatic to build his own robot.
‘I’ve enjoyed my Sunday a lot by building a robot here. Science is also my favourite subject and I want to be an engineer when I grow up,’ he said.
