Mumbai, Oct 31 (IANS) Day three of the ongoing Aamby Valley India Bridal Week saw a mix of nature and fashion with a collection brought together by designer duo Mona Lamba and Pali Sachdev for their label Monapali.

The show saw models walking the ramp in lehengas, cholis and saris in bird colours that included shades of blue, green, black and grey. Adding splashes of pink and turquoise, Monapali worked on a base that revolved around red, white and beige.

Elaborate jaali and beadwork added to the bridal wear designs and the unconventional embellishments moved from a tightly woven design to the delicate loose textures. The collection also included brocade lehengas encrusted with mirror work.

‘The inspiration was from the mesh so there is a lot of jaali work and smaller and bigger mesh and they are all hand crafted,’ Lamba told IANS.

When asked what were the ideal outfits for brides this wedding season, Lamba said: ‘A bride to me is very special. So they should not wear clothes that everyone else is wearing, so I like to dress up every bride according to what she would be able to carry and at the same time it should be gorgeous enough.’
