New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Tuesday said Suresh Kalmadi’s resignation as secretary of the Congress Parliamentary Party meant ‘nothing’ and asserted it would still raise the corruption issue in parliament.

‘Stepping down from Congress Parliamentary Party means nothing,’ BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told a TV channel. The announcement of the resignation came just as the winter session of parliament began Tuesday.

Kalmadi, the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman, had come under fire in the run up to the Oct 3-14 event over allegations of delays, cost over-runs and corruption.

‘People are asking what happens to the scam and loot in the Commonwealth Games, in which there were a group of ministers and secretaries (monitoring the organisation),’ he said. ‘We will definitely raise the issue.’

Javadekar also said they planned to raise the ‘mother of all scams’ in parliament, referring to corruption allegations against Telecom Minister A. Raja.
