Chennai, Dec 7 (IANS) The Madras High Court Tuesday suspended R.K. Chandramohan as the chairman of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Bar Council for trying to influence Justice R. Raghupathy through a union minister last year to get bail for his clients.

Hearing the petition of G. Rajendran praying for initiating contempt of court proceeding against Chandramohan, for trying to influence Justice Raghupathy last June, the high court ordered the suspension of Chandramohan from his bar council post.

Last year, Justice Raghupathy in an open court declared that a union minister tried to influence him for granting bail to two accused – C. Krishnamurthy and Kriba Shridhar – in a forgery case investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
