Chandigarh, Dec 7 (IANS) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Tuesday said it will move the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court verdict that gave away a part of the Ayodhya land to Muslims.

‘We have found around 3,300-year-old remains that prove there was a Ram mandir (temple) at Ayodhya. So why should we give away even a single inch (of land) for a mosque?’ VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia asked here.

‘We are ready to make any number of sacrifices to prevent the construction of a mosque. We will soon move the Supreme Court,’ he told reporters.

He said the Ayodhya site where the 16th century Babri mosque stood until it was razed by Hindu mobs in December 1992 was the birthplace of Lord Ram.

‘We want parliament to enact a law so that a Ram temple can be built in Ayodhya.’

A three-judge special bench of the high court Sep 30 ordered the division of the disputed land in Ayodhya into three equal parts – one to Ram Lalla, one to Hindu sect Nirmohi Akhara and one to the Sunni Central Waqf Board.
