New Delhi, Dec 8 (IANS) The government will divest its stake in the Minerals and Metals Trading Corp (MMTC) next fiscal through a follow on public offer, Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar said Wednesday.
‘It’s not possible in the current financial year. I hope it will be in the next fiscal,’ Khullar told reporters on the proposed disinvestment of MMTC.
He said in three to four weeks details of the proposed stake sale would be finalised. ‘I am discussing it with the department of disinvestment. I am hopeful things will be clear in three-four weeks.’
The government-owned MMTC with a turnover of over $7 billion is the largest non-oil importer of India.
