Mumbai, May 19 (Inditop) Indian equities markets were in consolidation mode about an hour before close Tuesday, with a key index slipping from the day’s highs to hold about 111 points above its last closing figure.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 14,757.82 points, was ruling 134.3 points or 0.94 percent higher at 14,418.51 points. It closed at 14,284.21 points Monday.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 0.8 percent from the previous close Monday to trade at 4,357.75 points.
Broader market indices were also ruling in the green, with the BSE midcap index gaining 3.32 percent and the BSE smallcap index up 2.26 percent.
