Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS) A benchmark index of Indian equities crept into the green after a weak start Monday morning.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 19,600.28 points, was ruling at 19,546.94 points, up 38.05 points or 0.2 percent from its previous close at 19,508.89 points.
It had fallen to 19,462.88 points soon after opening.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was trading at 5,869.05 points, up 0.2 percent.
Broader markets saw better gains, with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.58 percent up and the BSE smallcap index trading 1.81 perecent higher.
