Dubai, Dec 15 (IANS) A 34-year-old Egyptian private teacher has been charged with attempting to molest a housewife and trying to kiss her in her house in Dubai, a media report said Wednesday.
Prosecutors said the teacher tried to molest and kiss the 42-year-old Emirati woman, but his attempt failed because her daughter walked into the room, the Gulf News reported.
The suspect – named only by his initials S.M. – was let on bail, but failed to attend Tuesday’s hearing at the Dubai Court of First Instance.
Judge Al Saeed Mohammad Barghout will hand out a verdict in absentia Dec 28.
The housewife told the court she had first met the teacher while he was riding a bicycle in the streets.
‘He said he worked in a private school and that he lives in Al Muhaisna and teaches private lessons. He agreed to give private lessons to my children four days a week.’
‘He started asking me very private questions about my husband and how am I and my children adapting with the fact that their father lives with his first wife. He also asked me very intimate questions and whether I had my rights or not. He also hinted that a woman constantly needs a man in her life. Thereafter, I asked him to leave,’ she said.
