Bhopal, Dec 20 (IANS) A group of Border Security Force’s former personnel and service widows Monday marched in Gwalior and threatened to return their medals if action is not taken in the scam related to their housing society.
At least forty former BSF men and widows held the protest march from Phoolbagh to the district collectorate and presented a memorandum to the Gwalior commissioner.
The marchers alleged that the plots in the Border Security Force Housing Society at Maharajpura were allotted to civilians, in violation of the law.
The BSF housing society was planned on 13.5 acres of land in Maharajpura. There were 465 plots to be allotted to retired BSF personnel and service widows.
According to the protesters, around 50 percent of the plots have been given to civilians while their applications were turned down citing one reason or the other.
‘The law of reservation and other norms have not been followed,’ alleged retired inspector Maansingh Kushwaha.
The Gwalior commissioner was out of station Monday and his deputy accepted the memorandum. The marchers said if justice is not done, they will return their medals to the government.
