Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 22 (IANS) The condition of former Kerala chief minister K. Karunakaran has turned serious again and he was put back on the ventilator Wednesday, doctors said.
The 92-year old Congress veteran, who has been admitted to a private hospital in the city since Dec 10, was taken off the ventilator last week after his condition improved.
But Wednesday morning he had another bout of breathlessness and the doctors at Ananthapuri Hospital put him back on ventilator.
Leader of Opposition Oommen Chandy visited Karunakaran at the hospital Wednesday and discussed his conditions with the team of doctors treating him.
Hearing the veteran leader’s condition, a large number of supporters also arrived at the hospital where his son K. Muraleedharan and daughter Padmaja are present.
