Tehran, May 20 (Inditop) Iran Wednesday launched a missile with a range of 2,000 km, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.
Ahmadinejad, who is in the northeastern province of Semnan, said the surface-to-surface missile was launched Wednesday morning and successfully hit its target, IRNA news agency reported.
The Sejjil-2 missile, which belongs to the advanced generation of surface-to-surface missiles, was first tested in November 2008.
The Sejjil missile has a range of almost 2,000 km. It operates in two stages and uses solid fuel.
