New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS) Twentysix teams will compete in the hockey senior National Women’s Championship in Sonepat beginning Friday.
The teams have been divided into eight pools and the matches will be played on a league cum knockout format in the 10-day tournament.
The matches will be played on two artificial turfs at Motilal Nehru School of Sports and SAI Centre at Sonepat.
On the opening day, Maharashtra will take on Tripura, Karnataka will play Bihar and Haryana will clash with Assam.
The tournament will be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
