Singapore, Jan 27 (IANS) India’s Somdev Devvarman stormed into the singles quarterfinals while compatriot Karan Rastogi crashed out of the second round of the Singapore ATP Challenger tennis here Thursday.
Somdev defeated Australian John Millman 6-4, 6-3 in one hour and 30 minutes in front of packed stands. He next plays eighth seeded and 169th ranked Andrej Martin of Slovakia Friday.
In the other second round match, Rastogi failed to get measure of former World No.20 Dmitry Tursonov of Russia and went down 4-6, 2-6 in one hour and six minutes.
Rastogi, who also lost in the doubles Wednesay, earned 8 ATP points for his second round appearances.
