New Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS) Light showers were experienced in some parts of the national capital Monday evening, while the day was warm and cloudy with the temperature staying above the average for this time of the year.
The light showers started around 9.15 p.m. and lasted till 9.30 p.m. Some of the areas in west and south Delhi which received rain included Dwarka, Safdarjung Enclave, Sarojini Nagar, Green Park and Saket.
The maximum temperature during the day was 26.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above the average, while the minimum stood at 14.6 degrees Celsius, seven notches above the average, the weather office said.
‘Because of a cloud cover and southerly winds, the day temperature rose considerably,’ a an India Meteorological Department official said.
The humidity level touched a high of 79 percent at 8.30 a.m.
The weather office has forecast partly cloudy sky Tuesday with maximum and minimum temperatures around 25 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively.
