Kolkata, Feb 17 (IANS) Restrictions on movement of passenger trains during night in Maoist-affected areas of West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand will continue till Feb 24, a railway statement said here Thursday.

‘In view of security reasons, running of the passenger trains on Kharagpur-Adra, Chakradharpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Tata sections will continue to be suspended 10 p.m. to 5 a.m till Feb 24,’ a South Eastern Railway (SER) statement said.

Accordingly, some trains have been diverted and re-scheduled, it said.

The railway has been restricting the movement of trains after the Gyaneshwari Express sabotage in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district May 28, 2010 in which 148 people were killed.
