Jammu, Feb 17 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir’s opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold a meeting of its top leaders here Saturday to chalk out its strategy to give momentum to its campaign for an early resolution of the ‘Kashmir problem’, a party spokesman said Thursday.

Incidentally, the meet comes the same day as its rival, the ruling National Conference, is holding a meeting of its Central Working Committee to decide the party’s future course of action.

A PDP spokesman said, in a statement, that a meeting of the senior leaders of the party here Feb 19 would be addressed by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

‘Besides debating other important issues in the February 19 meeting, party leaders would also discuss the prevailing political situation in the state. The party leaders would also discuss future course of action regarding the ongoing campaign already being launched by the party for the resolution of Kashmir problem,’ the statement said.

‘The party has made it clear that solution of the Kashmir problem is core of the PDP’s agenda because since its formation, the party has been advocating for resolution of this issue. The party also has repeatedly mentioned that resolution of Kashmir problem is key to the lasting peace and economic growth of South Asia,’ the statement added.
