Chandigarh, Feb 26 (IANS) Various parts of Punjab, Haryana and their joint capital city Chandigarh received light to moderate rainfall Saturday morning, slightly dipping the temperature in this region.
The region also witnessed showers late Friday night. However, Met department officials have forecast clear weather and bright sun in the coming days.
‘We had light to moderate rainfall in various parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during the last 12 hours (since late Friday). Various towns like Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ambala, Kurukshetra and Panipat were lashed by rainfall. This rain has brought a slight dip in the mercury this morning,’ a Met official said.
The centrally administered city of Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius Saturday.
In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest at six degrees Celsius, whereas temperatures in Ludhiana and Patiala cities settled at a low of 10.6 and 9.8 degrees, respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal towns recorded a low of 11.2, 10.6 and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively.
