Moscow, April 29 (IANS) A Russian cargo spaceship docked with the International Space Station (ISS) Friday, the Mission Control Centre said.

The Progress M-10M freighter docked with the Pirs module automatically at 1829 Moscow time (1429 GMT) as scheduled, Xinhua reported citing a statement.

The spaceship was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Wednesday.

It would deliver about 2.6 tonnes of various items to the space station.

The present ISS crew comprise of Russian cosmonauts Alexander Samokutyayev, Andrei Borisenko and Dmitry Kondratyev, European Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli and NASA astronauts Catherine Coleman and Ronald Garan.

The crewmembers Friday congratulated Prince William and Kate Middleton on their wedding.
