Mumbai, June 22 (Inditop.com) Indian equities markets slipped further into the red Monday with a key index shutting shop 252 points below its previous close.

The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,591.28 points, ended trade at 14,269.77 points (provisional) – 252.12 points or 1.74 percent lower than Friday’s close.

Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ened the day 2.11 percent down at 4,222.7 points.

Broader market indices too lost with the BSE midcap index falling 0.8 percent, while the BSE smallcap index moved down 0.49 percent.
