London, Sep 1 (IANS) Singer Katy Perry will reportedly dress up like her idol Freddie Mercury to raise money for the late star’s charity.

Contactmusic.com reports that the fans of Mercury are expected to don replicas of the Queen star’s flamboyant stage outfits at a hotel here, Monday to mark his 65th birthday.

While, Perry who has long cited the rocker as the biggest influence on her musical career will be seen wearing a moustache, cropped wig and bright yellow jacket to promote the Freddie For A Day campaign, which is raising money for the AIDS charity the Mercury Phoenix Trust.

Mercury, died at the age of 45, in 1991 due to bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS.
