Bangalore, Oct 1 (IANS) Warriors of South Africa Saturday set a target of 156 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Group A match of the ICC Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here.
Put in to bat first, Warriors made a modest 155 for four wickets in 20 overs in the second tie of the day that was delayed by 30 minutes due to heavy rains in the evening.
Attacking bowling and tight fielding by Riders restricted Warriors from accelerating the score in the middle and slog overs.
With three sixes and three fours, Colin Ingram was the highest scorer at 61 in 47 balls, while opener J.J. Smuts hit 46 off 43 balls with six fours.
Keeper Mark Boucher remained unbeaten 38 in 27 balls with five fours.
For Riders, Lakshmipathy Balaji took two wickets, while Brett Lee and Jacques Kallis shared one wicket each.
Earlier, the Group B match between Somerset and South Australian Redbacks was abandoned due to heavy rain.
