New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani Saturday called for harnessing experiences of senior citizens for the larger benefit of society.
‘Senior citizens are an integral part of the society and their contribution to the society is invaluable. In modern India, they are going to be a very constructive force with their experiences and it is the need of the hour that social welfare organisations should come forward and recognise their strength,’ said Advani at a felicitation ceremony of 10,000 senior citizens on the occasion of World Senior Citizens’ Day.
Expressing serious concern over the social and physical security of senior citizens, Advani appreciated the efforts of organisations such as ‘Sampurna’, which had organised the felicitation ceremony, to bring the senior citizens on one platform and provide an opportunity for their voices to be heard.
