Cairo, Oct 2 (IANS) Veteran actor Sean Penn has joined hands with Egyptians who are attempting to tell the world the country is a safe place to visit in the wake of the Hosni Mubarak regime’s ouster.
The veteran actor was photographed holding a national flag in Cairo as he joined a protest urging military leaders to speed up the transfer of power to civilians.
Egyptian actor Khaled el-Nabawi reveals he invited Penn to visit Egypt, hoping his presence would help to show the world that the country is a safe place to visit following the uprising in January, reports dailystar.co.uk.
Penn has been actively involved in recovery of earthquake-ravaged Haiti, where he co-founded a charity organisation aimed at funding relief.
