London, Oct 29 (IANS) Actress Uma Thurman has urged her fans to donate money to famine-hit people of Horn of Africa and help rally support for the region.
The actress has filmed a 30-second public service announcement in a bid to publicise the ongoing problems in the region, insisting it is a bigger crisis than the 2010 Haiti earthquake and the Indonesian tsunami in 2004, Dailystar.co.uk reported.
In the online clip, she says, ‘When tragedy struck Indonesia and Haiti, the world responded. The famine, war, and drought affecting the Horn of Africa right now is larger than both these crises combined, and the world should be paying attention.’
‘Text a donation of $10, but do more than that – forward the facts to everyone you know… We are the relief,’ she says.
