New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, an accused in the 2008 cash-for-votes scandal, was Sunday discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here after his health reportedly improved.
Amar Singh, who was admitted to AIIMS Sep 12 due to his kidney troubles, was taken in an ambulance to his Lodhi Estate residence, accompanied by his aide and Rampur MP Jaya Prada.
Amar Singh had been granted bail by the Delhi High Court Oct 24 on humanitarian grounds. He had been arrested Sep 6 for his alleged involvement in an attempt to bribe MPs ahead of the July 2008 parliament trust vote, popularly known as the cash-for-votes scandal.
