Abu Dhabi, Jan 3 (IANS/WAM) Top officials of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have met their counterparts from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Qatar and Lebanon to discuss a range of issues.
UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Abu Dhabi Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khaled bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, met visiting Lebanon President Michel Suleiman in Dubai and discussed ties between the two countries.
Saeed Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE’s special envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, received in Abu Dhabi Afghan ambassador Najibullah Mojadidi and reviewed the proceedings of the Bonn conference on Afghanistan.
Youssef Issa Hassan Al Sabri, UAE ambassador to Ethiopia, met Ethiopian Minister of Health Tedros Adhanom in Addis Ababa and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in the health sector.
Abdullah Mohammed Al Takawi, the UAE envoy to Mauritania, met the country’s Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood and Family Mawlati bint Al Mukhtar in the capital Nouakchott.
