New Delhi, July 9 (Inditop.com) A 32-year-old businessman was stabbed to death in the national capital by four men after he refused to give them Rs.400,000, police said. His brother alleged the involvement of his estranged wife in the murder.
Jagmohan Singh Kohli, owner of a rubber factory, was stabbed to death at his Rajouri Garden residence in west Delhi late Wednesday night when he refused to give money to the assailants, a police officer said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Agarwal said: “We received a call from the victim’s wife Sumit that four men came to their house and demanded money. When her husband refused, they stabbed him several times and tied her hands and feet before fleeing.”
Agarwal said Kohli’s body had multiple stab injuries and a cloth was tied around his neck.
“Kohli and his wife did not have a good relationship and were staying separately for the last few months. She returned a day back. There are many loopholes in the woman’s statement and we are investigating the matter,” Agarwal said.
Kohli’s brother and other family members alleged involvement of his wife in the murder.
Manjeet Singh, Kohli’s brother said: “Three days back she came and demanded some property papers. Jagmohan gave it to her for he thought it would help improve their relationship. I don’t know what went wrong, but she had a role in the incident.”
