New Delhi, Feb 29 (IANS) India discard Rajpal Singh will be leading the Wizcraft-owned franchise Delhi Wizards in the World Series Hockey (WSH) in their opening game against Karnataka Lions at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Friday.
Rajpal, a former India captain, said it is an honour to lead the Delhi Wizards.
“I hope to live up to the confidence shown in me by the franchise and give our fans an exciting season of hockey. I look forward to the valuable inputs from my team. My aim will be to get the best out of a very talented squad and I am confident that by doing so we will have a great chance of doing well in the tournament,” said Rajpal, who was ignored for the 48-member probables for the Olympics.
Sabbas Joseph, Director Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, said Rajpal was the ideal candidate for the captain’s job.
