New Delhi, July 9 (Inditop.com) Rainfall in the neighbouring states brought down the day temperature in the national capital which, however, continued to experience muggy weather Thursday, the Met Office said.
The maximum temperature Thursday settled at 37.2 degrees Celsius – three degrees less from Wednesday’s 40.6 degrees Celsius – while the minimum was recorded at 29.1 degrees Celsius.
Although the weatherman predicted rain Thursday, the city had a dry day, rain eluding the capital, and the humidity level increasing to 73 percent.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thundershowers in the capital in next 48 hours.
“The monsoon will remain weak over Delhi and neighbouring states. However, we can expect rain/thundershowers in the next two to three days,” IMD Director B.P. Yadav told IANS.
Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and east Rajasthan, he said.
The people in the national capital continue to reel under acute power and water shortage. The power demand was recorded at 4399 MW, only a megawatt less than the record on Wednesday.
