Bhubaneswar, July 13 (Inditop.com) Orissa Monday advised its fishermen not to venture into sea as it will be rough during the next two days due to a low pressure area over the north-west Bay of Bengal, a official said.

“A low pressure area formed over north-west Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood this morning. It is likely to be more marked,” S.C. Sahu, director of the met office here, told IANS.

“As a result, winds of upto 65 kmph are likely to prevail along and off the Orissa coast. The sea condition will also be rough to very rough. We have advised fishermen not to venture into the sea,” he said.

The meteorological office also said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places within the next two days. Extremely heavy rain (more than 25 cm) is likely to occur at isolated places during the period. Several parts of the state witnessed moderate to heavy rain in the past week.
