New Delhi, July 30 (IANS) Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh Monday said the government would fast-track all clearances required for building the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Singh gave the assurance during a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan here.
The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure has to look into the legal aspects, including the bid document, contractual liabilities, infrastructural and environmental issues before giving the go ahead to the project.
“This is one of the priority items which is being monitored directly by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO),” the civil aviation ministry said in a statement.
The cabinet had granted in-principle approval for the airport in May 2007.
