Moscow, July 30 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A man in Russia’s Siberian republic of Yakutia has been killed by a wild bear, said a local interior ministry official Monday.

Two residents of Khara-Aldan village went last Tuesday to cut hay. One of them decided to go to a nearby forest lodge to collect a scythe.
According to a police spokesperson, his mate kept waiting for his return for two days and Friday, returned to his village and informed that his co-worker had gone missing. The man’s body, waring several wounds, was found the next day, after search and rescue efforts.
“The body’s wounds were typical of those that bears leave,” said police spokesperson Stanislav Platonov.
The head of the village administration, meanwhile, has set up a group of hunters who have started searching for the beast.
