New Delhi, July 31 (IANS) Union Home Minister P Chidambaram Tuesday said he did not think he was being shifted to the finance ministry, currently under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
“I don’t think so,” Chidambaram told reporters after presenting his ministry’s monthly report card here.
“We will meet again next month,” he said.
On being asked if the proposal for a change in his portfolio was with the president, Chidambaram said he was “too small a person” to be told so.
“I am too small a person for the president to tell me,” he said.
There has been a buzz that Chidambaram would move to the finance ministry in the wake of Pranab Mukherjee quitting to contest the July 19 presidential election that elevated him to India’s top constitutional job.
