Mumbai, July 31 (IANS) Khar Gymkhana ‘Senior’ stunned last year’s runners-up Chembur Gymkhana ‘Gladiators’ to advance to the quarterfinals of The Zarine and Yazdi Daruvala Charitable Trust Mumbai Billiards League, organised by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra, at the Dadar Parsee Colony Gymkhana here Tuesday.
Deepak Khubchandani beat Tushar Dighe and Amandeep Kohli prevailed over Derek Sippy to put ‘Senior’ in a comfortable position that left veteran Prakash Rajani a modest target of 48 against Vishal Madan to seal the win.
Mandpeshwar Civic Federation ‘Tough Men’ of Borivali entered their maiden quarterfinals following a 684-610 win over Matunga Gymkhana ‘Mind It’ after Chandu Kansodaria fired a significant break of 73 in the opening tie for the winners.
