Skopje (Macedonia), Aug 23 (IANS) Macedonia has appointed Cedomir Janevksi as the new coach of the national football team.
Janevksi replaced former Wales and Real Madrid boss John Toshack who stepped down more than a week ago after just a year in charge, reports Xinhua.
“Janevski has everything that we were looking for in a manager, and we welcome him with open arms,” Ilcho Gjorgjioski, chairman of Macedonia football federation, said Wednesday.
The 51-year-old Janevski began his international career coaching the Macedonia Under-21 side. He has also coached clubs like FC Brugge and Red Star Belgrade.
Janevksi signed a 14-month contract with Macedonian football federation. He is going to lead Macedonia until the end of the 2014 World Cup qualifications.
“I believe that we can achieve better results in the qualifiers, and all I can promise is that we will give our best effort in every match,” Janevski said.
