New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) Axed from the national team, former England captain Kevin Pietersen, who was the star of the last Twenty20 World Cup, will still feature in this year’s edition – but as a commentator.

Pietersen, whose international career still hangs in the balance, has been roped in by ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) as a part of presentation and analysis team for ICC World Twenty20 to be played in Sri Lanka.
“I am very excited about working with ESPN STAR Sports covering the ICC World Twenty20 watching England defend their title,” said Pietersen.
The South African-born English cricketer was left out of the thid Test against South Africa and was also dropped from the World Twenty20 squad after it was revealed that he sent text messages to South African players criticising skipper Andrew Strauss.
While speculation is rife on Pietersen’s future with the national team, he has found there is life beyond playing.
Pietersen, who was the Man of the Series in the last World Twenty20 that was on by England, will now work for publicity and promotion of World Twenty20. Pietersen for the first time will feature on live broadcast as an analyst.
