New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) Delhi residents experienced a pleasant day Monday with parts of the city receiving light rains and the temperature dipping. As per the met office, the city will receive more showers Tuesday.
The city received a total of 2.2 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The pleasant weather is here to stay as the met official said that more showers are expected in the city Monday night and Tuesday.
“There is forecast of more rains tonight and tomorrow (Tuesday) The maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow will be around 32 and 26 degrees,” said the IMD official.
Monday’s maximum temperature dropped three notches below average to settle at 31.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was a notch above average at 26.5 degrees.
The humidity levels wavered between a high of 90 and a low of 75 percent.
Sunday was a sultry day for Delhi residents though the maximum temperature dipped a notch below average to 32.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was average at 24.8 degrees Celsius.
A total of 542.1 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the outbreak of monsoon June-end. The seasonal average for the whole monsoon is 12 percent less than average.
Monsoon is expected to last in Delhi till Sep 20.
