Islamabad/Dhaka, Dec 29 (IANS) The news of the death of an Indian gang-rape victim in Singapore was prominently displayed Saturday on the websites of leading Pakistani and Bangladeshi dailies.

Pakistani Geo TV’s lead story was an agency copy on the death of the 23-year-old woman who was brutally gang-raped and tortured in a moving bus in the Indian capital Dec 16. The photograph of Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth hospital accompanied the story.
Dawn, Pakistan’s leading daily, in its top stories section ran the story headlined “Indian rape victim dies in hospital”.
It also ran an agency report on the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who was deeply saddened by the victim’s death.
Bangladesh’s Daily Star website prominently displayed on its front page the death of the young physiotherapy student in Singapore. It too carried a photograph of the Mount Elizabeth Hospital where eight doctors struggled to take care after she was flown to Singapore from the Indian capital Thursday.
The Indian woman was gang-raped and tortured Dec 16, sparking outrage in India.
