Jakarta, Aug 19 (DPA) At least 25 people were killed and 13 injured when a truck packed with up to 100 people overturned and slipped into a ditch in Central Kalimantan province on the Indonesian part of Borneo Island, a media report said Wednesday.
The accident took place Tuesday night when the truck carrying around 100 workers from an oil palm plantation crashed in the district of Sampit, MetroTV reported.
The truck failed to make it up an incline in the road, slipped back, overturned and crashed into a metre-deep muddy ditch. Many passengers were crushed under the truck.
Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
