Islamabad, Aug 19 (Xinhua) An anti-terrorism court Wednesday declared Pakistani Taliban leader Maulana Fazlullah a proclaimed offender, officials said.
Maulana Fazalullah, chief of the Taliban in Pakistan’s Swat valley, is wanted for his involvement in acts of terrorism.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Khalil Khan Khalil directed Fazlullah and other accomplices to appear in the court or a police station within a week.
In May, the Pakistani government announced 50 million rupees (about $625,000) reward for providing information about Fazlullah.
Six aides of Taliban leaders were also declared proclaimed offenders.
An army spokesman said last month that Maulana Fazalullah has been injured in an attack by the security forces.
The government has taken into custody all family members of Maulana Fazlullah, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said.
Fazlullah has been leading insurgency against the security forces in Swat for two years, which has claimed lives of hundreds of people.
More than 100 cases including murder and attempt to murder had been registered against the militant leader who is currently in hiding.
Meanwhile, the arrested spokesman of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Maulvi Omar Tuesday confirmed the killing of Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud in a US drone attack.
Baitullah Mehsud was reportedly killed during the US drone missile strike Aug 5.
