Ahmedabad, Aug 22 (Inditop.com) The Gujarat State Haj Committee has made it mandatory for pilgrims from the state to produce medical certificates that they are not suffering from either seasonal or swine flu before they can leave for Saudi Arabia in November this year.

All the pilgrims would have to get themselves examined for swine and seasonal flu and acquire a medical certificate to take on the journey, which has to be submitted to the Gujarat State Haj Committee two weeks prior to applying for a visa, according to a statement by the committee here Saturday.

It also said the medical certificate would be only considered valid if it has been issued by doctors authorised by the state government.

More than 50,000 pilgrims from Gujarat go for the Haj every year.
