Mumbai, Aug 25 (Inditop.com) Indian equities opened lower Tuesday as investors resorted to booking profits after making some robust gains during all the three previous trading sessions.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 15,573.91 points, against Monday’s close at 15,628.75 points, and was ruling at 15,518.06 points, with a loss of 110.69 points or 0.71 percent.

The index had closed at with a gain of 387.92 points, or 2.55 percent Monday.

All the sector-specific indices of the exchange were in the red but for those pertaining to auto and consumer durable stocks. Tata Motors, NTPC and Grasim were among the stocks quoting higher, while Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Power and ICICI Bank led the losers.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 4,616.55 points, against Monday’s close at 4,642.80 points, with a loss of 0.57 percent, data with the exchange showed.
