Jammu, Aug 25 (Inditop.com) A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed by security forces in an early morning operation that was still underway in a mountain area of Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday, police said.
The operation in the upper reaches of Mahore, 150 km from here, was being carried out by a joint team of the Indian Army and the state police. The body of the militant, believed to be from the Hizbul Mujahideen, has not yet been recovered as the gunfight was continuing.
Police officials said security forces reached the suspected hideout of the militants early in the morning following a tip-off from local residents.
