Mumbai, April 1 (IANS) Model-actress Dipannita Sharma is likely to co-write a movie script on the fashion industry. She hopes the project changes the “perception” of people about the “one dimensional angle” of the industry.
“Modelling is what I owe my career to. And I feel the perception and portrayal of the industry of fashion as a whole has many a time been misrepresented or has been one dimensional in movies,” Dipannita, a former Miss India contestant, told IANS.
“I have always toyed with the idea to write a script on this subject and I may soon be putting this into reality. I have a producer friend of mine who seeded this thought into my head and I am considering it,” added the model-actress who featured in films like “Jodi Breakers” and “Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl”.
In the past, acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Fashion” has explored the dark side of the fashion world.
Dipannita’s film is likely to be based on her experiences, her learning and what she calls is the real side of the fashion industry.
The idea, according to a source close to the actress, stemmed when a renowned publishing house approached Dipannita to pen a book on her life as a model. While the book is definitely a prospect Dipannita is pursuing, the movie, the source says, will be her first priority.
