Chennai, Sep 1 (Inditop.com) Two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Tuesday reported an 11 percent growth in August, totting up sales of 126,842 units as against 114,321 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
“The company has thus achieved a cumulative sales growth of 5 percent for the period April to August 2009 with cumulative growth of 10 percent in domestic sales,” TVS said in a statement.
Domestic sales surged 20 percent to 115,095 units last month as against 96,238 units in August 2008.
Scooters accounted for 28,582 units of total sales, as against 25,392 units in the year-ago period, while motorcycle sales stood at 51,127 units as compared to 52,304 units.
Exports continued to be affected with sales of 11,747 units of two-wheelers in August as against 18,083 units in the corresponding month the previous year.
