New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS) Home Minister Rajnath Singh Thursday expressed satisfaction at the situation on the India-Bangladesh border as the two border forces are taking necessary confidence building measures and carrying out joint patrolling along the border.

Attending the border co-ordination conference here between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF), he noted that the two countries enjoy cordial relations and should continue mutual dialogue for strengthening bilateral relations.
The Bangladesh delegation to the conference, led by BGB Director General Maj. Gen. Aziz Ahmed, also called on the home minister Thursday.
Director General (BSF) Devendra Kumar Pathak apprised the home minister that the two forces discussed the issues of common interest of both the countries and the forces like violence on the border, trans-border crime, smuggling of narcotics and fake Indian currency notes.
The two forces also discussed action against Indian insurgent Groups and destruction of their hideouts, joint efforts for prevention of illegal migration and human trafficking of Bangladeshi nationals and effective implementation of coordinated border management plan for preventing trans-border crimes.
