New Delhi, Sep 2 (Inditop.com) Bodies of two workers were recovered Wednesday from the debris of an under-construction building that collapsed Tuesday injuring 18 people, a fire department official said.
Bodies of Kalim, 30, and Khursheed, 30, were taken out 2.30 a.m. Wednesday by Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers from Ramnagar area of Shahdara in east Delhi, a fire officer said.
The second floor of the building collapsed while construction was on in the basement.
“Relief operations are still on,” the officer said. The injured were taken to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
Meanwhile, Municipal Commissioner K.S. Mehra has directed the chief vigilance officer to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the building collapse and submit the report in three days, an official statement said.
