Music bosses have assured anxious BEATLES fans in the U.S. they will have a second chance to own a limited copy of THE BEATLES IN MONO – after the highly-anticipated disc set sold out online.
Only 10,000 copies of the 13-CD boxed set were allotted for the U.S. market and fans were left scrambling when the discs sold out at most U.S. web retailers – before the store release date of 9 September (09).
However, EMI bosses have confirmed production has been extended and retailers will receive additional copies.
A spokesperson from web retailer Amazon.com adds: “The manufacturer has informed us that they will be producing additional mono box sets due to high demand. While the mono box set will still remain a limited production item, it will no longer be limited to 10,000 copies for the U.S. market, as originally reported.”
The set sells for $299 (£199).
