Kolkata, Jan 6 (IANS) Indian IT consulting company Tech Mahindra Tuesday said it has entered into a joint venture with US-based global telecom technology firm Avion Systems to provide network design and engineering services to communications service providers.
“Tech Mahindra has been chosen as a minority investor at Avion Systems and the new JV will be called Avion Networks Inc (ANI),” the company said in a statement.
According to the company, the JV aims to play a significant role as a strategic supplier of choice to the carriers in the final deployment and management of current mobile networks and their planned transformation into the next-generation cloud enabled, virtual and software driven networks.
“As a worldwide leader, Tech Mahindra continues to invest strategically in communications industry and to support our major clients. We always look for synergistic partnership. Avion Systems has deep expertise and vast experience in network services, an area chosen by us to invest and grow into,” said the company’s communications group president Manish Vyas.
The JV would be primarily servicing the communication industry in the transformation of current mobile to a virtualized, cloud-enabled and open-systems driven network to spur rapid innovation and adoption.
